Chanda Dancy (Blink Twice, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, One of Them Days, Devotion, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, The Defeated) has recently been recording her score for the upcoming slasher sequel I Know What You Did Last Summer. The film is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge, Someone Great) and stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Billy Campbell, Sarah Pidgeon, Austin Nichols, Gabbriette Bechtel, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The movie follows five friends who cover up their involvement in a deadly car accident. When their past comes back to haunt them a year later, they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help. Robinson also wrote the screenplay with Leah McKendrick and Sam Lansky. Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious series, Sonic the Hedgehog) is producing the project. John Debney has previously scored the original 1997 film, while John Frizzell composed the score for the 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. I Know What You Did Last Summer will be released in theaters nationwide on July 18 by Sony Pictures.
