Gary Gunn (A Thousand and One, David Makes Man, Quad Gods, Maggie Black, Master of Light). is the composer of the upcoming Netflix original series Forever. The show is created by Mara Brock Akil (Black Lightning, Being Mary Jane) based on Judy Blume’s groundbreaking 1975 novel and stars Lovie Simone, Michael Cooper Jr., Karen Pittman, Xosha Roquemore, Wood Harris, Marvin Winans III, Niles Fitch, Ali Gallo, Adriyan Rae, Barry Shabaka Henley, Paigion Walker, Xavier Mills and E’myri Crutchfield. The drama is set in Los Angeles, 2018 and tells the epic love story of two Black teens exploring romance and their identities through the awkward journey of being each other’s firsts. Brock Akil & Blume are also executive producing the project with Susie Fitzgerald (Kevin Can F**k Himself), Erika Harrison, Sara White (The Idol), Regina King & Reina King (A Man in Full, Shirley), Shana C. Waterman and Anthony Hemingway (Underground, Mike). Forever will premiere on May 8, 2025 exclusively on Netflix.
