Jeff Russo (Fargo, Ripley, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, The Night Of, Legion, The Umbrella Academy, The Man Who Feel to Earth) has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix limited series Zero Day. The show is created by Eric Newman (Narcos, Children of Men), Noah Oppenheim (Jackie, The Maze Runner) & Michael S. Schmidt and stars Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Connie Britton, Joan Allen, Matthew Modine, Bill Camp, Dan Stevens, Gaby Hoffmann and Clark Gregg. The 6-part thriller follows a former U.S. President who is called out of retirement to find the source of a deadly cyberattack, only to discover a vast web of lies and conspiracies. Newman, Oppenheim, Schmidt & De Niro are also executive producing the project with Jonathan Glickman (Wednesday, Rush Hour), as well as Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland, Pieces of Her) who also directed all six episodes. Russo has previously scored the Glatter-directed and -produced Max limited series Love & Death. Zero Day will premiere on February 20, 2025 exclusively on Netflix.
Russo’s other upcoming projects include Paramount+’s Star Trek: Section 31, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, FX’s Alien: Earth, as well as the fifth season of Apple TV+’s For All Mankind and the third season of Prime Video’s Bosch: Legacy.
