Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Going Varsity in Mariachi. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mexican Institute of Sound (aka Camilo Lara) (A Million Miles Away, Gentefied) & Demián Gálvez, as well as tracks by Mariachi Oro. Going Varsity in Mariachi is directed by Sam Osborn & Alejandra Vasquez and follows a Texas high school mariachi band and their dedicated coach as they aim for a state championship against fierce competition. The documentary premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Fesival and just made its streaming debut last Thursday on Netflix.
