Hanan Townshend (Knight of Cups, The Long Game, To the Wonder, Semper Fi, Blue MiracleThe VesselOutcry) is scoring the upcoming Australian/New Zealand psychological horror feature Went Up the Hill. The film is written and directed by Samuel Van Grinsven (Sequin in a Blue Room) and stars Dacre Montgomery and Vicky Krieps. The movie follows a man who travels to remote New Zealand to attend the funeral of his estranged mother, where he meet her grieving widow, when his mother’s ghost returns to inhabit both of them. Van Grinsven also co-wrote the screenplay with Jory Anast. Samantha Jennings (Talk to Me, Cargo) and Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook, The Nightingale) are producing the project for Causeway Films, alongside Vicky Pope (Savage) for POP Film. Went Up the Hill will premiere this September at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
