Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Adventures of Arsene Lupin, Vampire Killers, Dickensian, Haunted, Flood) is returning to score the upcoming BBC/PBS drama Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light. The show is directed by Peter Kosminsky, adapted for television by Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Frank) and stars Mark Rylance, Damian Lewis, Kate Phillips, Jonathan Pryce, Lilit Lesser, Harriet Walter, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Harry Melling, Timothy Spall, Alex Jennings and Charlie Rowe. The 6-part series is based on the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s trilogy and traces the final four years of Thomas Cromwell’s life, completing his journey from self-made man to the most feared, influential figure of his time. Kosminsy is also executive producing the Playground and Company Pictures production with Colin Callender (Howards End, The Missing) and Noëlette Buckley, as well as Lucy Richer (Top of the Lake, Small Axe) for the BBC, and Susanne Simpson (All Creatures Great and Small, Unforgotten) for MASTERPIECE. Wiseman has previously scored the original 2015 Wolf Hall series and also collaborated with Koskminky on The Promise and The State. Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will premiere later this year in the UK on BBC and in the U.S. on PBS.
Wiseman also continues to score BBC’s Father Brown, which will return for a twelfth season.
