Justin Burnett (9-1-1: Lone Star, Java Heat, Unit 13) is the composer of the upcoming horror trilogy The Strangers. The feature films series based on Bryan Bertino’s 2008 movie of the same title is directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) and stars Madelaine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez, Rachel Shenton, Gabriel Basso, Richard Brake, Ema Horvath and Ella Bruccoleri. The first installment follows a young couple who are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin in an eerie small town after their car breaks down, when they they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive. Alan R. Cohen & Alan Freedland (Due Date, The Freak Brothers) wrote the screenplay. Courtney Solomon (Phoenix Forgotten, Arthur the King) is producing the project with Mark Canton (300, Immortals, Den of Thieves), Christopher Milburn (Freelance, Outcast), as well as Gary Raskin, Charlie Dombek and Alastair Burlingham. Burnett has previously scored all of Solomon’s directorial efforts, including Dungeons & Dragons, An American Haunting & Getaway, as well as several features produced by the filmmaker, including the first two After movies and Re-Kill. The Strangers: Chapter 1 will be released in theaters nationwide on May 17, 2024 by Lionsgate. No release dates have been announced yet for Chapters 2 & 3.
