The full details of the new soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ original animated series What If…? have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Laura Karpman (The Marvels, Ms. Marvel, American Fiction, Lovecraft Country, Taken, Underground) & Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum (Stockholm, Pennsylvania, Prisoner’s Daughter, Regarding Susan Sontag, Bird Karma). The soundtrack will be released digitally later today by Hollywood Records & Marvel Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The labels have previously released albums for each episode of the back in 2021, as well as an EP for the Season 2 episode What If… Happy Hogan Saved Christmas? last month. What If..? is created by A.C. Bradley and follows The Watcher (voiced by Jeffrey Wright) as he guides viewers through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The full second season premiered over the holidays last month and is now available to stream on Disney+.

This an absolute joke and truly ridiculous. I’m pretty angry. Been waiting for this music for over 2 weeks and there’s around 4 hours of incredible music. And this is what we get! WTF.
32 minutes! In suites! Wow
Embarrassing and insulting. This show and these composers deserve better.
Qobuz is listing this “soundtrack” for $15.09, CD quality download, for 32 minutes and 19 seconds. Gross. Disney and Marvel should be ashamed of themselves for what amounts to a full-priced sampler. It’s bad enoough they stopped providing Hi-Res versions of their soundtracks to purchase online (see “The Marvels” soundtrack, only available in CD quality download, no physical CD release), but now we’re getting table scraps from a season.
Wonder if it’s another ploy for gouging us for purchases. I can listen to these tracks in various ways, but underwhelmed with the shortness. Some nice moments, and I want more. But I’m hoping they release an episodic batch like Season1 had so we get a decent chunk of music.
