Rob Simonsen (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, The Whale, Foxcatcher, The Way Back, The Adam Project, (500) Days of Summer, Nerve) has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film Good Grief. The movie marks the feature directorial debut of actor Dan Levy and stars Levy himself, Ruth Negga, Luke Evans, Himesh Patel, David Bradley, Celia Imrie, Arnaud Valois, Emma Corrin and Kaitlyn Dever. The comedy drama revolves around an artist who is grieving the loss of his famous writer husband and takes his two best friends on a trip to Paris, where they unpack messy secrets and hard truths. Levy also wrote the screenplay and is producing the project with Megan Zehmer, as well as Sister Pictures’ Stacey Snider (Under the Dome), Kate Fenske and Debra Hayward (Les Miserables, Mary Queen of Scots). Good Grief will premiere on January 5, 2024 on Netflix.
As previously reported, Simonsen also has Shawn Levy’s Deadpool 3 (to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024) coming up.
