Grammy Award-winning music producer/guitarist/composer Nile Rodgers and Grammy Award-nominated singer/rapper/songwriter The-Dream (aka Terius Gesteelde-Diamant) are collaborating to write original song for the upcoming horror movie Opus. The film is written and directed by Mark Anthony Green and stars Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino and Tatanka Means. The A24 production centers on an iconic pop star’s return following a decades-long disappearance. Collin Creighton and Brad Weston (Queen & Slim, Footloose) are producing the project for Makeready, alongside Poppy Hanks (Raising Dion, Blue Bayou) and Jelani Johnson for Macro Film Studios, as well as Josh Bachove. The-Dream & Rodgers also serve as executive producers. Rodgers has previously scored several films, including Beverly Hills Cop 3, Coming to America, Blue Chips & Alphabet City and also contributed original songs to Semi-ProRush Hour 2, among other titles.
