Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning & Fallout, Black Adam, Black Widow, His Dark Materials, Top Gun: Maverick) has teamed up with Michael Bitton (who has worked with Balfe on numerous projects over the last couple of years) to score the new British Paramount+ original series The Burning Girls. The show is developed by Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge) based on novel of the same name by C.J. Tudor and stars Samantha Morton, Ruby Stokes, Rupert Graves, Conrad Khan and David Dawson. The psychological thriller follows a Vicar and her daughter who both arrive in a new village in hope of a fresh start, but soon realize the place has a dark past. Rosenfeldt & Tudor are also executive producing the Buccaneer Media & Viacom International Studios production with Richard Tulk-Hart (Miss Scarlet & the Duke) and Tony Wood (Whitstable Pearl, Crime). Balfe has previously scored the Rosenfeldt-created ITV drama Marcella. The Burning Girls is premiering in the UK today on Paramount+.

Balfe’s other recent television scoring projects include Netflix’s Life on Our Planet, which will premiere next Wednesday, October 25.
