Ceiri Torjussen (The CanalJack Goes Home, All Creatures Here Below, American Night, Delhi Crime) is composing the original music for the upcoming Danish psychological thriller Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever (Nattevagten – Dæmoner går i arv). The film is written and directed by Ole Bornedal (The Possession, I Am Dina) and stars Fanny Bornedal, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Kim Bodnia. The sequel to Bornedal’s original 1994 hit movie (scored by Joachim Holbek) follows a young student who has taken the job as the night watch in a forensic department and tries to investigate the dark past of her parents. Thomas Heinesen (A Fortunate Man) is producing the project for Nordisk Film Production. Torjussen has previously co-scored Bornedal’s last feature, The Bombardment, with Marco Beltrami (who has collaborated with Bornedal on numerous other projects, including his 1998 English language remake of Nightwatch) and Buck Sanders. Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever will premiere in October at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival before opening in Danish theaters later this year.
