Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Godless, Hacks, Chupa, Just Beyond) is scoring the upcoming comedy drama Ezra. The film is directed by Tony Goldwyn (A Walk on the Moon, Someone Like You) and stars Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrne, Robert De Niro, Vera Farmiga, Rainn Wilson, Whoopi Goldberg, Goldwyn himself and William A. Fitzgerald. The movie follows a struggling New Jersey stand-up comic who moves in with his father after splitting up with his wife and decides to kidnap his autistic child and take him on a cross-country odyssey. Tony Spiridakis (The Heights, The Last Word) wrote the screenplay. Spiridakis & Goldwyn are also producing the Wayfarer Studios and Closer Media production with William Horberg (The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Kite Runner) and Jon Kilik (The Hunger Games, Foxcatcher). Ezra will premiere in September at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
