Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Spanish Princess, The Bay, Anne, The Halcyon, The Long Call, Home Fires) is the composer of the new ITV drama Maryland. The show is created by Suranne Jones & Anne-Marie O’Connor and stars Jones herself, Eve Best, Stockard Channing, George Costigan, Dean Lennox Kelly, Hugh Quarshie and Andrew Knott. The 3-part series revolves around two sisters who have grown apart over the years, but through tragic events learn to love and respect one another all over again. Jones & O’Connor are also executive producing the Monumental Television production with Alison Owen (Elizabeth, Jane Eyre), Debra Hayward (Bridget Jones’s Baby, Les Miserables), Alison Carpenter (Ghosts, Harlots), Katie Kelly and Pat Tookey-Dickson. Maryland will premiere in the UK this month on ITV and ITVX.
Sim is also expected to return to score the second season of the Epix/Sky Atlantic series Domina.
