Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Emancipation, Ray Donovan, The Affair, The Good Shepherd) has composed the original score for the upcoming Hulu original movie White Men Can’t Jump. The film is directed by Calmatic (House Party) and stars Sinqua Walls, Jack Harlow, Lance Reddick, Laura Harrier, Teyana Taylor, Vince Staples, Tamera ‘Tee’ Kissen, Myles Bullock and Dazeran Jones. The sports comedy is a remake of Ron Shelton’s 1992 feature of the same title (scored by Bennie Wallace) about an unlikely pair of basketball hustlers who team up to con their way across the courts of Los Angeles. Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Girls Trip) and Doug Hall wrote the screenplay. Barris is also producing the 20th Century Studios production with Paul Hall (For Colored Girls, Pride). White Men Can’t Jump will premiere on May 19, 2023 on Hulu.

Zarvos’ other recent and upcoming projects include Eva Longoria’s Flamin’ Hot, which just premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival and will premiere on June 9 on Hulu, Roger Ross Williams’ Cassandro, which premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival and will premiere later this year on Prime Video, as well as George Tillman Jr.’s Big George Foreman, which will open in theaters on April 28.
