Disney+ announced today that singer/songwriter Linda Perry (To Leslie, Luckiest Girl Alive, Citizen Penn) has contributed original music to the streamer’s upcoming original series The Muppets Mayhem. She also serves as the executive music producer of the show developed by Adam F. Goldberg (The Goldbergs), Bill Barretta (The Muppets) & Jeff Yorkes based on characters created by Jim Henson and starring Lilly Singh, Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry, Barretta himself, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, Peter Linz, Matt Vogel, David Rudman and Anders Holm. The comedy follows the Electric Mayhem Band as they come face-to-face with the current day music scene when they try to finally record their first studio album. Mick Giacchino (Extinct, Zootopia+, Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow, That Dirty Black Bag) is involved in scoring the project. Goldberg & Barretta are also executive producing the ABC Signature production with Michael Bostick (Bruce Almighty, 8 Simple Rules), Kris Eber (Dave) and The Muppets Studio’s David Lightbody & Leigh Slaughter. The Muppets Mayhem will premiere on May 10, 2023 on Disney+.
