Murray Gold (Doctor WhoTorchwood, It’s a Sin, Gentleman JackQuiz, A Very English Scandal) has been tapped to score the upcoming Prime Video original series Dead Ringers. The show is created by Alice Birch (The Wonder, Lady Macbeth, Normal People) and stars Rachel Weisz, Britne Oldford, Michael Chernus, Poppy Liu, Jennifer Ehle and Emily Meade. The psychological thriller is based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 feature of the same title (scored by Howard Shore) and revolves around two twins who share everything in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront. Birch & Weisz are also executive producing the Amazon Studios and Annapurna Television production with Stacy O’Neil, Sue Naegle & Ali Krug (The Staircase, Pam & Tommy), Erica Kay, Anne Carey (The American, Mr. Holmes), Polly Stokes, James G. Robinson (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Diabolique), David Robinson (Man of the Year, Dream House) and Barbara Wall (The Exorcist), as well as Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Nest) who also directed multiple episodes. Dead Ringers will premiere on April 21, 2023 on Prime Video.
