Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, Finch, The Book of Life) and Juan Luqui (Monsterland, The Fight) have teamed up to score the upcoming documentary Wild Life. The film is directed by Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, The Rescue) and follows conservationist Kris Tompkins who – after falling in love in mid-life – left behind the world of the outdoor brands they had helped pioneer and turned their attention to an effort to create National Parks throughout Chile and Argentina. Vasarhelyi & Chin are also producing the National Geographic Films production with Bob Eisenhardt (The Rescue) and Anna Barnes (Return to Space). Wild Life will premiere in March at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival and is expected to be released in theaters later this year before making its debut on Disney+.
Santaolalla’s recent projects include the HBO original series The Last of Us, which currently airs every Sunday and has already been renewed for a second season.
