Composer Ellen Reid is reuniting with director Sarah Adina Smith on the upcoming comedy The Drop. The film starring Anna Konkle, Jermaine Fowler, Aparna Nancherla, Jillian Bell, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Jennifer Lafleur, Elisha Henig, Joshua Leonard & Robin Thede follows a happily married couple who face a marriage test when one of them drops a baby during a tropical island wedding. Smith (Looking for Alaska, Goodbye World) & Leonard also co-wrote the screenplay. They are also producing the project with Jonako Donley, Mel Eslyn (Biosphere, Blue Jay), Shuli Harel, Tim Headington (Hugo, The Green Knight) and Lia Buman (Blow the Man Down, Little Fish). Mark & Jay Duplass serve as executive producers. Reid has previously with Smith on the features The Midnight Swim, Buster’s Mal Heart and Birds of Paradise. The Drop will premiere on January 13, 2023 exclusively on Hulu.
