Alex Weston (The Farewell, The Novice, Wander Darkly, What Breaks the Ice) has composed the original score for the upcoming Amazon original movie Goodnight Mommy. The film directed by Matt Sobel (Take Me to the River) is based on the 2014 Austrian feature of the same title and stars Naomi Watts, Cameron Crovetti, Nicholas Crovetti and Peter Hermann. The psychological horror thriller follows two twin brothers as they arrive home to find their mother’s demeanor altered and face covered in bandages and begin to suspect the woman beneath the gauze might not be their mother. Kyle Warren wrote the screenplay. V.J. Guibal & Nicolas Brigaud-Robert (Sunset), Joshua Astrachan (Paterson, Short Term 12) and David Kaplan (It Follows, It Comes at Night) are producing the Animal Kingdom and Playtime production. Goodnight Mommy will premiere on September 16, 2022 exclusively on Prime Video.
Weston’s other recent projects include Holly Morris’ documentary Exposure, which premiered at various film festivals over the last year and is currently awaiting a release date.
