Deadline is reporting that Dolly Parton will write original songs for the upcoming film adaptation of the Academy Award-nominated singer/songwriter’s & James Patterson’s best-selling novel Run, Rose, Run. The book tells the story of young woman who moves to Nashville to pursue her music-making dreams and is taken under the wing of a giant female musical icon. Parton & Patterson are also producing the project with Hello Sunshine’s Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter (Little Fires Everywhere, The Morning Show). Run, Rose, Run is currently in development and will be released by Sony Pictures.
