Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Pollock, Carnivale, Rome, The Biggest Little Farm, Monk, Appaloosa) has been tapped to score the upcoming drama Raymond & Ray. The film is written and directed by Rodrigo García (Albert Nobbs, In Treatment) and stars Ewan McGregor, Ethan Hawke, Maribel Verdú, Maxim Swinton and Sophie Okonedo. The movie follows two half-brothers who have lived in the shadow of a terrible father when they get a chance to reinvent themselves at his funeral. Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Roma, Children of Men), Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) and Julie Lynn (Life, To the Bone) are producing the Apple Studios, Esperanto Film Limited and Mockingbird Pictures production. Raymond & Ray will premiere this fall on Apple TV+.
Beal also continues to score The CW’s Walker, which has recently been renewed for a third season. The composer has also recently announced his newest recording project, The Paper Lined Shack, comprising two works – the album’s namesake, The Paper Lined Shack for soprano and orchestra, and Things Unseen. A first single is available to stream/download now and the full album will be released on June 24 by Supertrain Records (visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version).
