Composer Arturo Cardelús is reteaming with director Salvador Simó on the upcoming animated feature Dragonkeeper. The film is based on Carole Wilkinson’s series of fantasy novels and features the voices of Bill Nighy, Bill Bailey and Naomi Yang, The movie tells the story of a slave girl who becomes a Dragonkeeper by helping the last surviving dragon find a safe location to hatch its egg. Manuel Cristobal (Wrinkles) & Larry Levene (4L) are producing the project for Dragoia Media, alongside Domingo Corral (La Fortuna, Paraiso) & Gabriel Arias Salgado (Tad, the Lost Explorer, Champions) for Movistar+, Mercedes Gamero (Klaus, The Invisible Guest) for Atresme and Song Weiwei for China Film Animation. Cardelús (Black Beach, In a Heartbeat) has previously collaborated with Simó on the 2018 feature Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles, last year’s Disney Channel animated special Descendants: The Royal Wedding and the short La Autoestima. Dragonkeeper is currently in production. No release date has been announced yet.
