Composer Brett Detar is reteaming with director William Brent Bell on the upcoming horror movie Orphan: First Kill. The prequel to Jaume Collet-Serra’s 2009 feature Orphan (scored by John Ottman) stars Isabelle Fuhrmann who reprises her role of the title character, as well as Julia Stiles, Rossif Sutherland, Matthew Finlan and Hiro Kanagawa. The film centers on Leena Klammer who orchestrates an escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. David Coggeshall (Prey) wrote the screenplay. Dark Castle Entertainment’s Alex Mace (Seance), Hal Sadoff & Ethan Erwin are producing the project with James Tomlinson. Detar has previously scored most of Bell’s features, including The Devil Inside, Wer, Brahms: The Boy II and Separation. Orphan: First Kill will be released in 2022 by Paramount Pictures.
