Composer Atli Örvarsson (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Defending Jacob, The Edge of Seventeen, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Eagle) is set to reteam with director David M. Rosenthal on a currently untitled French Netflix original film (known under the working title Apnea). The movie is written and directed by Rosenthal and stars Camille Rowe, Sofiane Zermani, César Domboy and Zacharie Chasseriaud. The thriller follows a young university student who decides to drop her studies and escape her life in Paris for a freediving course in the south of France, where she is quickly pulled into a life that reaches new depths brought by the weight of an ocean’s descent. Melanie Laurent and Romain Rousseau & Maxime Delauney (Ladies, Jane by Charlotte) are producing the Nolita Cinema production. Örvarsson has previously scored Rosenthal’s last four features, A Single Shot, The Perfect Guy (with David Fleming), How It Ends and Jacob’s Ladder. The new Netflix film is currently shooting and will premiere next year. (Deadline)
Örvarsson also continues to score NBC’s Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, as well as CBS’ FBI, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.
