THR is reporting that Moby will contribute original music to the upcoming Australian action adventure comedy The Great Emu War. The film will be directed by Yaniv Raz (Dr. Birds Advice for Sad Poets) and is set to star John Cleese, Monty Franklin, Jim Jefferies and Rhys Darby. The movie is set in Western Australia in 1932 and follows a group of farmers who complain that emu are eating their crops and creating a nuisance and turn to the Australian government, which sends heavily-armed divisions of the army to wipe out the bird. Franklin also wrote the screenplay. Robyn Kershaw (Bran Nue Dae, Sucker) is producing the project for Village Roadshow Pictures. The Great Emu War is set to start principal photography in May of 2022.
