Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, Macbeth, The Babadook, The Snowtown Murders, Overlord, The Mustang, Son of a Gun) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Encounter. The film is directed by Michael Pearce (Beast) and stars Riz Ahmed, Octavia Spencer and Rory Cochrane. The movie follows a decorated Marine who goes on a rescue mission to save his two young sons from an inhuman threat. Pearce also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Barton (The Ritual, Giri/Haji). Dimitri Doganis, Piers Vellacott & Derrin Schlesinger (American Animals, Four Lions) are producing the project. Encounter will premiere in September at the 2021 Toronto Film Festival and is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime in late 2021 or early 2022.
