Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD club series, including a new soundtrack album for the 1999 sci-fi classic The Matrix directed by the Wachowski siblings and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano and Hugo Weaving. The album features the complete score from the film composed and conducted by Don Davis (The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Jurassic Park 3, Bound), including several previously unreleased tracks. The 2-CD set of The Complete Edition, which is limited to 2,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. The album is also being released as a 2-SACD set limited to 1,000 copies (click here to order). The label has previously announced a vinyl edition featuring the composer’s complete score (to be released tomorrow, Record Store Day, June 12).
The label has also announced a new soundtrack album for the 2003 sci-fi action movie Paycheck directed by John Woo and starring Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman, Aaron Eckhart, Paul Giamatti, Joe Morton, Michael C. Hall and Colm Feore. The album features the expanded original score composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Chicken Run, X-Men: The Last Stand, Happy Feet), including over 45 minutes of previously unreleased music.
