Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Judas and the Black Messiah, Once Upon a Time, Miracle, The Accountant) & Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machines) are reuniting to co-score the upcoming Netflix original series Sex/Life. The show is developed by Stacy Rukeyser (UnReal) based on BB Easton’s book of the same title and stars Sarah Shahi, Mike Vogel, Adam Demos and Margaret Odette. The dramedy follows a suburban mother of two as she takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane that sets her very married present on a collision course with her wild-child past. Stacy Rukeyser is also executive producing the project with J. Miles Dale (The Shape of Water, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Jordan Hawley and Jessika Borsiczky (House of Lies, The Promotion). Isham & Summers have previously co-scored last year’s Hulu limited series Little Fires Everywhere, for which they received an Emmy Award nomination. Sex/Life will premiere this year exclusively on Netflix.
Isham’s recent projects also John Ridley’s Needle in a Timestack, which is expected to premiere later this year. Summers’ other recent scoring projects include Amazon’s Panic (co-scored with Brian H. Kim) and Paradise City.
