The composer trio of Blitz//Berlin (Still/Born, Extraterrestrial, It Stains the Sands Red) have been hired to score the upcoming Syfy original series Day of the Dead. The show is developed by Jed Elinoff & Scott Thomas (Malibu Rescue, Raven’s Home) based on George A. Romero’s classic feature and stars Keenan Tracey, Daniel Doheny, Natalie Malaika, Morgan Holmstrom and Kristy Dinsmore. The 10-parter tells the story of six strangers struggling to survive the first 24 hours of a zombie invasion. Elinoff & Thomas are also executive producing the project with Stan Spry & Jeff Holland (Creepshow), and Drew Brown for Cartel Entertainment, as well as Robert Dudelson & James Dudelson (Day of the Dead: Bloodline), and Jordan Kizwani for HiTide Studios. Steven Kostanski who previously collaborated with the composers on this year’s PG: Psycho Goreman & 2017’s The Void is directing the first four episodes. Day of the Dead is expected to premiere later this year on Syfy.

Also coming up for Blitz//Berlin is Elle Callahan’s supernatural thriller Witch Hunt, which was originally set to premiere at last year’s SXSW Film Festival and is set to be released this year, as well as Josh Webber’s thriller Issac starring Dove Cameron & RJ Mitte.
