Ben Onono (Safe, Half of a Yellow Son, Paranoid) has composed the original score for the upcoming horror thriller Spell. The film is directed by Mark Tonderai (House at the End of the Street) and stars Omari Hardwick, Loretta Devine, John Beasley and Lorraine Burrough. The movie follows a man who crashes his plane while en route to rural Appalachia with his family for a funeral and awakens wounded, alone and trapped in the attic of a woman who claims she can nurse him back to health with the Boogity, a Hoodoo figure she has made from his blood and skin. Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium, Law Abiding Citizen) wrote the screenplay. He is also producing the project with actor Morris Chestnut, Gordon Gray (The Rookie, McFarland, USA) and Brian Wilkins (Asher) Spell will be released in select theaters and on VOD on October 30, 2020 by Paramount Pictures.
