James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, The Sixth Sense, Signs, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Fugitive) has written the original theme music for the new Netflix original series Emily in Paris. The show is created by Darren Star (Sex and the City, Younger) and stars Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Kate Walsh, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery and Camille Razat. The romantic comedy revolves around a Chicago marketing exec who – after anding her dream job in Paris – embraces her adventurous new life while juggling work, friends and romance. Brienne Rose serves as the project’s music supervisor. Collins is also executive producing the MTV Studios production with Tony Hernandez (The Conners, Search Party) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll, Broad City) of Jax Media, as well as Andrew Fleming (The Craft, Threesome) who also directed multiple episodes. Emily in Paris will premiere tomorrow, October 2 exclusively on Netflix.
Howard’s other upcoming projects include Disney’s Jungle Cruise and Paul Greengrass’ News of the World. He is also attached to score David Yates’ third installment in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series.
