Rupert Gregson-Williams has composed the original score for the new Netflix original movie Hubie Halloween. The film is directed by Steven Brill (Mr. Deeds, Drillbit Taylor) and stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Maya Rudolph, Rob Schneider, June Squibb, Kenan Thompson, Tim Meadows, Michael Chiklis, Karan Brar, George Wallace, Paris Berelc and Noah Schnapp. The comedy follows a good-natured but eccentric community volunteer devoted to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts who – when people start disappearing – has to convince the police and townsfolk thatmonsters are real and only he can stop them. Sandler also co-wrote the screenplay with Tim Herlihy (Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer) and is producing the Happy Madison production with Allen Covert (Pixels, That’s My Boy) and Kevin Grady. Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Crown) has previously scored the Brill-directed The Do-Over and Sandy Wexler, as well as numerous other films for Happy Madison. Hubie Halloween will premiere on October 7, 2020 exclusively on Netflix.
As previously reported, Gregson-Williams also has Paul Weitz’s Fatherhood coming up.
I mean, did we really think it’d be anyone else?
I hope this is just a one time thing or just returning a favor because Rupert deserves better than to go back to the deep well of scoring Adam Sandler movies and Co.
