Guillaume Roussel (3 Days to Kill, Happy!, The Spy, The Man with the Iron Heart, Primal, It Boy, Ransom) has recently scored the upcoming new film adaptation of Anna Sewell’s classic 19th century novel Black Beauty. The film is written and directed by Ashley Avis (Adolescence, Deserted) and stars Mackenzie Foy, Iain Glen, Claire Forlani, as well as Kate Winslet as the voice of Black Beauty. The drama follows a 17-year old girl who is grieving over the loss of her parents and develops a bond with a wild mustang that is captured and taken away from family. Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil, Death Race) and Robert Kulzer (Pompeii, The Three Musketeers) are producing the Constantin Film and JB Pictures production. Roussel has previously scored the Bolt-produced 2014 feature Outcast starring Nicolas Cage. Black Beauty will premiere later this year on Disney+.
Roussel also has the French feature C’est magnifique! directed by Clovis Cornillac and starring Cornillac himself, Alice Pol, Lilou Fogli & Alain Blazquez coming up. The comedy is set to be released in French theaters in early 2021.
