Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller The Turning directed by Floria Sigismondi and starring Mackenzie Davis, Finn Wolfhard, Brooklynn Prince and Joely Richardson. The film’s original score is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, Hostel, The Americans, Carnival Row). KRO Records & Sony Masterworks have released a soundtrack album featuring songs by Courtney Love, Lawrence Rothman, Empress Of, Mitski, girl in red & others. Click here for the full album details.
Also opening wide is the is action comedy The Gentlemen written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant. Chris Benstead has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening in around 600 theaters is the drama The Last Full Measure written and directed by Todd Robinson and starring Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris and Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s original music is composed by Philip Klein (Wish Dragon, Growing Up and Other Lies). Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening in limited theaters is the sci-fi horror movie Color Out of Space co-written and directed by Richard Stanley and starring Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Q’orianka Kilcher, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard and Tommy Chong. Colin Stetson (Hereditary, The First, Outlaws and Angels) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in limited release is the comedy drama Elsewhere written and directed by Hernan Jimenez and starring Beau Bridges, Ken Jeong, Kathleen Munroe, Parker Posey, Jackie Tohn, Jacki Weaver and Aden Young. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Orton (Nebraska, My Old Lady, The Good Girl). No word on a soundtrack album release.
