Composer David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Forbidden Kingdom, Papillon, The Gifted) is reteaming with director Ric Roman Waugh on the upcoming thriller Greenland. The film starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, Andrew Bachelor and David Denman centers on one family’s fight for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster. Chris Sparling (Buried, ATM) wrote the screenplay with revisions by Mitchell LaFortune and Waugh. Butler is also producing the project with Alan Siegel (Den of Thieves, Olympus/London Has Fallen) for their G-BASE production company, alongside Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk (John Wick, Sicario, The Town). Buckley has previously collaborated with Waugh (Snitch, Shot Caller) on this year’s Butler-starring Angel Has Fallen. Greenland is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2020 by STX Entertainment.
As previously reported, Buckley also has the Netflix original series The Stranger starring Richard Armitage coming up. The composer also continues to score CBS All Access’ The Good Fight, which will return for its fourth season in 2020 and CBS’ Evil, which currently airs every Thursday night.
