Eduardo Cruz has composed the original score for the upcoming political thriller Wasp Network. The film is written and directed by Olivier Assayas (Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper) and stars the composer’s sister Penélope Cruz, alongside Edgar Ramírez, Gael García Bernal, Wagner Moura, Ana de Armas and Leonardo Sbaraglia. The movie follows the increasingly complex lives of Cuban dissidents during the country’s 1990s post-Soviet Union economic collapse. Rodrigo Teixeira (Call Me By Your Name, The Witch) & Lourenco Sant’Anna (The Lighthouse) are producing the project for RT Features, alongside Charles Gillibert (Mustang, Certified Copy) for CG Cinéma. Cruz has previously scored a number of features and shorts, including 2012’s Twice Born. He also co-wrote an original song for last year’s Tomb Raider reboot. Wasp Network will premiere later this week at the 2019 Venice Film Festival.
