Blake Neely has been hired to score the upcoming World War II drama Greyhound. The film is directed by Aaron Schneider (Get Low) and stars Tom Hanks, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham and Rob Morgan. The movie is based on C.S. Forester’s novel The Good Shepherd and tells the story of Capt. Ernest Krause who – in the early days of World War II – crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while being hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi submarines. Hanks also wrote the screenplay is producing the project through his Playtone production company, alongside Gary Goetzman (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Mamma Mia!). Neely has previously scored Playtone’s features Starter for 10 & The Great Buck Howard, mini-series The Pacific and The Sixties & The Seventies for Hanks & Goetzman. Greyhound is set to be released on May 8, 2020 by Sony Pictures.
