Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Big Hero 6, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class) & Alex Belcher have been hired to score the upcoming action thriller 21 Bridges. The film is directed by Brian Kirk and stars Chadwick Boseman, J.K. Simmons, Taylor Kitsch, Stephan James, Sienna Miller, Jamie Neumann, Keith David and Morocco Omari. The movie revolves around a disgraced NYPD detective who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption. Adam Mervis (The Philly Kid) wrote the screenplay with revisions by Matthew Carnahan (World War Z, Deepwater Horizon). Joe & Anthony Russo are producing the project with Boseman, Logan Coles and Gigi Pritzker (Drive, Ender’s Game). Jackman has previously collaborated the Russo Brothers on Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War and the yet-to-be released thriller Mosul and is also scoring the upcoming Russo-produced Netflix original movie Dhaka. Jackman & Belcher have previously scored this year’s Netflix sci-fi thriller IO. 21 Bridges is set to be released in theaters nationwide on July 12, 2019 by STX Entertainment.

As previously reported, Jackman also has Rob Letterman’s Pokémon: Detective Pikachu coming up (to be released on May 10 by Warner Bros. Pictures). The composer has also scored Edward Zwick’s Trial by Fire, which premiered at last year’s Telluride Film Festival and will be released in theaters on May 17 by Roadside Attractions.
