David Arnold has revealed on Twitter that he is attached to co-score the upcoming BBC and Netflix mini-series Dracula with Michael Price. The show is written and created by Steven Moffat & Mark Gatiss and inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel. No casting announcements have been made yet. The 3-parter is set in Transylvania in 1897 and follows the the title character as he is drawing his plans against Victorian London. Moffat (Doctor Who, The Adventures of Tintin) & Gatiss are also executive producing the project with Sue Vertue for Hartswood Films, Ben Irving for BBC and Larry Tanz (Castlevania, Watership Down) for Netflix. Arnold & Price have previously co-scored all episodes of the Moffat- & Gatiss-created BBC series Sherlock. Dracula will premiere in the UK on BBC One and in the U.S. on Netflix. A premiere date in 2019 or 2020 is expected.
As previously reported, Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies) is also currently scoring the Amazon original series Good Omens starring Michael Sheen & David Tennant.
