Gregoire Hetzel (Incendies, Ismael’s Ghosts, My Golden Days, Summertime) has composed the original score for the upcoming drama Holy Lands. The film is written and directed by Amanda Sthers (Madame) and stars James Caan, Tom Hollander, Rosanna Arquette, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Efrat Dor. The movie is based on Sthers’ own book and revolves around a Jewish-American cardiologist who left everything behind to become a pig farmer in Israel. Didier Lupfer is producing the project for Studiocanal, alongside Alain Pancrazi for Made in PM. Holy Lands will be released in French theaters on January 9, 2019. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
Hetzel also has the French comedy Convoi exceptionnel written and directed by Bertrand Lier (Too Beautiful for You, The Clink of Ice) and starring Gérard Depardieu & Christian Clavier coming up. The composer also recently scored the comedy Paris Pigalle (L’amour est une fête), which has just been released in French theaters last month.
