Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are attached to score the upcoming drama Waves. The film is written and directed by Trey Edward Shults (It Comes at Night) and is set to star Lucas Hedges and Sterling K. Brown. The movie follows two young couples as they navigate the emotional minefield of growing up and falling in love. It is being described as a “dramatic musical” and will also feature contemporary songs. Kevin Turen (Arbitrage, The Birth of a Nation) and Jim Wilson (Dances with Wolves, The Bodyguard) are producing the project. Reznor & Ross have previously co-scored David Fincher’s The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl, as well as Peter Berg’s Patriots Day and the docu-series The Vietnam War. Waves will start production next month and is expected to be released in 2019 by A24. (Variety)
