Jed Kurzel has recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama Mustang. The film marks the feature directorial debut of French actress Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre and stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Jason Mitchell, Bruce Dern, Gideon Adlon, Josh Stewart and Connie Britton. The movie centers on a convict who is given the chance to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program training wild mustangs and forges a strong bond with a particularly difficult mustang, which forces him to confront his harsh past and innermost demons. Clermont-Tonnerre has also co-written the screenplay with Mona Fastvold (The Childhood of a Leader) and Brock Norman Brock (Bronson). Alain Goldman (La Vie en Rose, Babylon A.D.) is producing the project. Kurzel has recorded his score with the London Contemporary Orchestra. Mustang is expected to premiere later this year and will be distributed in the U.S. by Focus Features.

As previously reported, Kurzel (The Babadook, Alien: Covenant, Assassin’s Creed, Macbeth) also has Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale coming up.
