Yu Kobayashi has composed the original music for the upcoming Chinese fantasy action adventure sequel The Monkey King 3. The film is directed by Soi Cheang who also helmed the first two parts in the series and stars Aaron Kwok, William Feng, Zanilia Zhao, Xiaoshenyang and Him Law. The movie follows the Monkey King and his companions as they are taken captive by the Queen of an all-female land, who believes them to be part of an ancient prophecy heralding the fall of her kingdom. Cheang is also producing the project. Christopher Young has previously composed the music for the first two installments in the series. The Monkey King 3 will be released in China and the U.S. on February 16, 2018 and will be distributed stateside by Well Go USA Entertainment. Visit the official movie website for more information.

I´m a bit disappointed that Christopher Young didn´t return for MK 3. His scores for parts 1 and 2 were really great!
