Dickon Hinchliffe has been tapped to score the upcoming British drama Yardie. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Idris Elba and stars Aml Ameen, Shantol Jackson, Stephen Graham, Fraser James, Sheldon Shepherd and Everaldo Cleary. The movie is based on the cult novel by Victor Headley and follows a young Jamaican named “D” who arrives in London in the early 1980s and unexpectedly discovers the man who assassinated his revered brother in Jamaica a decade earlier. Brock Norman Brock (Bronson) and Martin Stellman (For Queen & Country) wrote the screenplay. Gina Carter (Snow Cake, Bright Young Kings) and Robin Gutch (’71, Hunger) are producing the project. Yardie will premiere next mont at the Sundance Film Festival.
