Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are composing the score for the upcoming crime drama Kings. The film is written and directed by Deniz Gamze Ergüven and stars Halle Berry, Daniel Craig, Lamar Johnson, Kaalan “KR” Walker and Rachel Hilson. The movie follows a recluse who helps a woman and her multiple children when riots erupt in Los Angeles following the 1992 acquittal of the policemen charged with assaulting Rodney King. Charles Gillibert (On the Road, Personal Shopper) and Geneviève Lemal are producing the project. Ellis has previously scored Ergüven’s last feature, the Academy Award-nominated drama Mustang. Kings will premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival.
Cave’s & Ellis’ latest project, Wind River, is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
