Singer/songwriter Andrew Bird has composed the original music for the upcoming indie drama Outside In. The film is directed by Lynn Shelton (Your Sister’s Sister, Laggies) and stars Jay Duplass, Edie Falco, Kaitlyn Dever and Ben Schwartz. The movie follows an ex-con who is struggling to readjust to life in his small town and forms an intense bond with his former high-school teacher. Shelton also co-wrote the screenplay with Duplass. Mel Eslyn (Blue Jay, The One I Love) is producing the project with Lacey Leavitt. Bird has previously scored the 2010 feature Norman, as well as several shorts and documentaries. Outside In will premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival and will be distributed in the U.S. by The Orchard.

I just watched this movie on Netflix and I loved it. I expected so many things to occur and they didn’t. Just shows how geared I am to expecting the worst. But the final song was my favorite. I’d love to get a download of that. Where can I obtain it?
Oh please can you tell me how I can purchase this soundtrack? I especially love the song where Chris rides his old bmx bike. It’s so touching but uplifting too. The music just spoke to my heart.
have you found something yet? I felt the same! Have been searching so long now for exactly this song (chris on his bike) but couldnt find anything.
I just saw the movie and loved every minute of it. It is a real life depiction of what could happen. I really, really need to know the name and artist of the song that was playing on the credits when the movie was over. Please tell me?!
A song called By any means by Andrew Bird
The entire score is so amazing. I don’t understand why it’s impossible to listen to it or purchase it anywhere.
Just watched this movie on Netflix and enjoyed it tremendously. It spoke to my heart and I was so sorry for the main Character. I kept thinking, no for do the The authorities are watching you! Ex Cons do have a tough time when trying to reestablish themselves into society. The ending gives us hope for a better future!
