David Wingo (Loving, Mud, Midnight Special, Take Shelter) will be making his television scoring debut on the upcoming HBO original series Barry. The show is created by Bill Hader and Alec Berg (Silicon Valley, EuroTrip, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and stars Hader, alongside Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan and Glenn Fleshler. The comedy follows an ex-Marine who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest who begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the L.A. theater scene. Hader and Berg are also executive producing the project. Barry will premiere in 2018 on HBO.
Wingo’s other upcoming projects include the comedy drama Brigsby Bear, which is opening in select theaters this weekend, as well as the indie drama State Like Sleep starring Katherine Waterston, Michael Shannon and Luke Evans.
