Nathan Halpern has recently composed the music for the drama The Rider. The film is written and directed by Chloé Zhao (Songs My Brothers Taught Me) and stars Brady Jandreau, Tim Jandreau, Lilly Jandreau, Lane Scott and Cat Clifford. The movie centers on a young cowboy who undertakes a search for new identity and tries to redefine what it means to be a man in the heartland of America after a tragic riding accident. Bert Hamelinck (The Diary of a Teenage Girl Sacha Ben Harroche and Mollye Asher (Fort Tilden, She’s Lost Control) are producing the project. The Rider will premiere later this week at the Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight section.
As previously reported, Halpern’s recent projects also include the drama One Percent More Humid starring Juno Temple & Julia Garner, which premiered last month at the Cannes Film Festival and is currently awaiting a distribution deal.
