Hans Zimmer, Richard Harvey and vocalist Camille were honored with an Annie Award in the Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production category for the music for The Little Prince. Director Mark Osborne accepted the award on the composers’ behalf at the awards ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The other contenders in the category were Joby Talbot for Sing, Laurent Perez del Mar for The Red Turtle, Alexandre Desplat for The Secret Life of Pets and Kristopher Carter, Lolita Ritmanis & Michael McCuistion for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. Zimmer previously won two Annie Awards for 2008’s original Kung Fu Panda film and the short Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five.
In the Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production category, Scot Stafford, Alexis Harte and JJ Wiesler were honored with their first Annie Awards for the Google Spotlight Stories production Pearl.
